This is what annoys me the most. I can't tell you how many people I know who were Blue Jays fans when they were young (when they were winning) who are now all of a sudden rooting for the Red Sox like they've been lifelong fans, then decide to rub it in my face when Boston is doing well.

There's the same thing going on here with the Patriots too, which contributes to my dislike of them as well. People who I went to school with who as kids rooted for the Cowboys or the 49ers, and now cheer for the Patriots.

It's not the lifelong fans I have a problem with. You guys realize that the team does have its ups and downs and I can respect a fan that sticks with his or her team during the lean years. It's the frontrunners I can't stand. And now that two Boston teams are doing very well (let's wait a few months before we crown the Celtics champs), and considering that they're the closest (geographically) to where I live, it's everywhere.

I can't friggin' stand frontrunner fans. But it absolutely makes me go batshit crazy when they act like king shit simply for rooting for the currently-winning team, as if they themselves directly contributed to the team's success.

Dallas Cowboys fans still bug me more than anything. The only time Boston fans bugged me was between the Pats Super Bowl win and the Sox World Series win.

New York and Dallas fans bug me way more than any other type. Not even close.

Well good thing I didn't do it this morning. Still not sure if I'll do it, but the line is better now if I choose to do so.
Where? Bodoglife.com, Oddsmaker.com, Sportsbook.com all have lines in the +127/-137 neighborhood. If the Rockies are still available at +152 somewhere, there are free monies to be made.

So you're keeping your affinity for ASU quiet?

I completely agree with this post. Just cannot stand bandwagon fans...well, bandwagon fans that act like they've been there all along, especially.

When I was a sophomore in college a girl that I knew in our freshman year came back with a boob job. She went from a 6.5 to a solid 9. Should I have sat back and reminded her that the year before I thought she was less than a 7 or should I lie and say that I thought she was always hot and share in what ever boobie prize she won?

i feel the yankees have learned from the yankees. the mid 90s yankees were built around a strong home built core and they filled in the rest.

the a's and their moneyball can stroke me.

I just never saw that coming Dalton, forgive me. I had you pegged as an Apex Tech grad.

I picked ASU when they were something like 23rd in every poll. And I've hardly been acting like I'm a lifelong fan. Should I just not ever pick a team when I get into a new sport I've never followed before?

I could understand the point if, say, ASU loses and I suddenly start rooting for Boston College or something. I plan to stick with the Sun Devils, though.

Dave, it was a joke, I figured you'd immediately recognize that.

I figured as much, but I thought I better explain myself in any case for any others who might not realize it as such.

That said, I think you all ought to visit the "Difference between college and NFL" thread and I dare you to tell me I picked a bad team.

Where have all good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?

Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There’s someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

Up Where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I would swear that there’s someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life
