The Streets...

No, not an abbreviation of a certain U2 song! I just discovered them and was wondering if anyone else had heard of them (or of him - seeing its one guy)?

Its kinda London rap stuff, fits into like the Lock, Stock and Snatch type scene. I didnt like it at first but the messages in the songs are cool. Definately not everyone's cup of tea but it grows on you!

I'm listening to them now -- yay!

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THE STREETS!!!!!! (you missed my and jkayet's Streets lyrics posting spree about a month ago )

The album is brilliant. My favourite tracks are "Irony Of It All," "Stay Positive," and "Weak Become Heros."

Brummie....I like that word.

Oh, and it IS one guy -- Mike Skinner from Birmingham, England. I think he's about 22 or so. You should read the bio on the website http://www.the-streets.co.uk if you haven't already. It's hilarious!

erm hello, my name's Terry and I'm a criminal

There are a couple tracks online here: http://www16.brinkster.com/thestreets/listen.htm

"erm, well actually
according to research,
government funding for further education
pales in insignificance when compared to how much they spend
repairin' leary drunk people in the weekend
in casualty wards all over the land"

In 500 years they'll play this song in museums

Shut up I'm the driver, you're the passenger
I'll reign superior
The pressure blows the dial on your barometer
Do you understand?
Or do you need an interpreter?
