I just recorded a video of my Sims, and I found it in my folder, but when I opened the with VLC player, it plays only sound. Is there anything I should do? Or does it not open with VLC? Or did the video just record bad?

Check your video settings. The default is to have the sound turned off and to have the video size be small.
