I've been listening to a bunch of Ramones recently (mainly their hits, but some of their other stuff too) and i was wondering how the hell they sound so damn good?! I mean, 2:30 songs, all power chords, all the same chord progressions even, but they don't sound repetitive or boring. They sound really damn good. How the hell do they get away with such similar songs and still sound great? I guess it has something to do with the great vocal lines, but other than that their songs are almost exactly the same.

I'm still impressed that they were together for so long and Johnny and Joey hated each other for the whole time. That's tenacity!

songs don't need to be super-expernimental and technically genius to sound "good". they just need to be catchy as fuck. that's how.
