The latest rumors are that the tour will start in Canada in May, they will play Wrigley field in Chicago on July 5 and July 6, they will play Fenway Park in Boston on July 28 and July 29.

Tour in Europe would start in August with a big show in Greece rumored as well as a show in Paris at Stade De France, and a show at the new Wembley Stadium in London.

The Police will be playing the small club the Whiskey, in LA I think, on February 12, the day after the Grammy awards.

Long time members of Sting.com, one year at least, will have the opportunity to win tickets to this event. 20 people will be chosen.

Here is the official info from www.sting.com about the club show:

02.07.07 Would you like to attend ''The Police Rehearsals''?

On February 12, 20 Sting.com legacy members will be able attend The Police Rehearsals - to commemorate The Police's 30th anniversary. Sting.com have secured credentials so that 20 legacy members can be there to attend this historic event which will take place late morning at the famous Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Boulevard.

Any Sting.com Legacy member who wishes to be have their name entered in a draw to attend "The Police Rehearsals" should log in to the community area at Sting.com, visit the Contests message board, and read the thread entitled "Attend the Police Rehearsals!" for details of how to enter. After the event, we would like the winners to each submit to us 250 words that describes their experience of the day - we can say with some certainty that none of you will be lost for words!

You have until midnight on February 8 to express your interest in attending. Sting.com will draw names on February 9 and advise the winners that day that of their success.

Here is the latest hot news from stingus.net

"Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Boulevard (West Hollywood, Calif.) on 12 February. Sting.com reported that 20 of their "legacy members" will be able attend The Police Rehearsals - to commemorate The Police's 30th anniversary. The exclusive event is for industry and media only and will coincide with a press conference at 11 a.m. PT, together with a special announcement via live satellite broadcast. The press conference announcement was made by promoter Live Nation.
Given that, it is a likely assumption that Arthur Fogel, chairman of global touring for the company, will oversee the tour under LN's TNA International banner. Fogel and TNA have a past history producing Sting's world tours.
For your information: during this event, they will perform a couple of songs."

So a press conference at 11 am PT USA , 2 pm Eastern USA, 7 pm UK/IRE, 8 pm Europe, on Monday February 12, 2007. This could be potentially a full announcement of all tour details as well as when tickets could go on sale, potentially Saturday February 17!

More confirmation from Billboard on the press conference:

Police Schedule Post-Grammy Press Conference

February 07, 2007, 2:20 PM ET

Ray Waddell, Nashville
After weeks of speculation, a press conference and "special announcement" featuring rehearsals by the Police is set for Monday (Feb. 12) at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, Calif., the day after the band will reunite for a show-opening performance at the Grammys.

The 11 a.m. PT press conference and special announcement via live satellite broadcast is widely expected to be regarding a 30th anniversary world tour by the seminal rock trio.

The press conference announcement was made by promoter Live Nation. Given that, it is a likely assumption that Arthur Fogel, chairman of global touring for the company, will oversee the tour under LN's TNA International banner. Fogel and TNA have a past history producing Sting's world tours, and last year presented international runs by U2 and Madonna.

Police a Go Go
Updated 13:00 PST Wed, Feb 07 2007
While a reunion performance by The Police at the Grammy Awards in L.A. February 11 is big news, Pollstar has learned that the really big story will come the next day.
The band will hold a morning press conference February 12 at L.A.'s famed Whisky a Go Go, where they will announce what is being called "really big news" and will also perform a few songs.
Although the exclusive event is for industry and media only, L.A. radio station 93.1 Jack FM is holding a contest that will grant a few listeners a chance to attend.
The blogs have been buzzing for weeks about possible dates for a summer tour by The Police, and fans have been awaiting an official announcement. While Pollstar's sources have been extremely tight-lipped about exactly what really big news the band will announce at the Whiskey, it's a safe bet fans won't be waiting after Monday.

Which brings us back full circle to the very first post of this thread.

Will Rocko be Police's stage manager?

And if that's true, will Rocko & The Devils open for the Police?

This just in in:
The Police, as of 10 this morning we're rehearsing at Lion's Gate. According to a source you can hear the boys rockin' out. As of 3:45 they were still hard at it.
Another source says they'll be here till February 7th.
Is that it for the Vancouver Grammy rehearsals?

Y'ALL!!!!!

Ticketbastard has created a file for The Police! But there's no alerts set up as of yet. Just a few weeks ago after all the rumors started this page and The Police didn't exist.

See for yourself...

Since tickets will be a bitch to get, I wonder if the band will participate in one of those damn auctions on Ticketbastard?

^YES! THOSE AUCTIONS SUCK!!!

When I bought my Rod Stewart tickets last week, that damn auction covered half of the floor! I was pissed! Why do they need to sell them at auction? Isn't that what eBay's for? I don't think that's right. What in the world do they need extra money for over and above the real cost of the ticket?
