yes, it is cool to hit a guy then have him jack a homer of you next pitch and yell at him while he rounds the bases, supposadly tell him to run the bases like rolen, shake your little finger after you strike someone out who hit a homer off you in the previous at bat (from an offensive standpoitn ill take 1-2, HR, K anyday), and then get your wish with rolen taking you yard to win the game in which was a must win game for the cubs to win the division.

Ahh, the New York bias. Poor New York. Perhaps he should have stopped in the heat of the moment, and removed his mask, chest padding, helmet, and leg guards. Like they do in hockey.

it has absolutely nothing to do with new york bias... catchers can take their masks off "in the heat of the moment" on a popfly behind home plate, but he can't take it off before he gets into a fight... no problem... he tried to pick a-rod up and body slam him ala bill lee but couldn't get him off the ground. classy by nixon, ortiz and kapler to triple team sturtz. this was a planned thing by the sox... it's obvious. arroyo throws inside on one pitch causing a-rod to have to get out of the way. the very next pitch he throws in the same spot, just even more inside and hits him. if that's what they think they need to do to light a fire under their underachieving asses, then so be it.

watch francona keep varitek out of the game tonight to keep him from getting plunked... pansies.

* wering my Cubs hat proudly

Actually, I followed other Cubs Fans/interferencers lead and decided not post about the Cubs in here because the Cards fans are just too annoying!

True Cubs fans are loyal, no matter how horrible they play...its been like that forever though.

Ah yes, I can see the pregame meeting..."we need to get in a brawl today, somewhere say in the 3rd inning, and lets pick a fight with A-rod, and 'Tek...make sure to get injured in the fight and force us to call Andy Dominique up from Pawtucket to back up Mirabelli for a while."

Yeah New Yorkers have an interesting point of view.

Anyway...if I'm Calzone Steinbrenner and my team just scored 24 runs in 3 games and lost 2 of 3, I'm very concerned. Rumor has it the Statue of Liberty has been offered to the D'Backs for the Unit (As part of the deal, Unit has to spend the offseason standing in the harbor holding a bic lighter in the air)

Report: Giambi tests for potentially fatal disease

ESPN.com news services

Yankees first baseman Jason Giambi is undergoing tests for a potentially fatal condition sometimes caused by intestinal parasites, his personal trainer told the Newark Star Ledger.

"He told me, 'I don't care about even hitting .220. I just want to feel better,' " Bob Alejo told the newspaper for a story published in Monday's editions. "He's exhausted, and it's not getting any better."

Giambi is being tested for a parasite called entamoeba histolytica, Alejo said, which can cause a potentially fatal condition called amebiasis. The parasite can be transmitted through water and food, among other ways, and it can embed itself in the intestinal lining, making it undetectable except by very specific tests, according to the Star Ledger's report.

Giambi has been tested for cancer and HIV in the last week. Both tests came back negative.

Giambi is scheduled to see another infectious disease specialist on Monday and will undergo specific tests for E. Histolytica, the newspaper reported. The results of those tests will determine whether the Yankees decide to put Giambi on the disabled list again.

There is concern that Giambi, who has missed 13 starts this season, might have to sit out the remainder of the season to rest. He's sat out four of New York's last five games; Giambi started at first base Friday in Boston but skipped the remaining two games of the series. He is hitless in his last 19 at-bats.
