I feel the same way about the US winning gold in Atlanta. Yes, we did spectacular, but I always feel teams competing on home turf who do well have an advantage. Call me unpatriotic, but I am more impressed when a team or an individual wins on a neutral turf, say Spain or Greece.

Well, by that measure...

The 2006 and 2007 world championships were both held in Europe. China and USA finished 1-2 in 2006 and 2-1 in 2007 with many of the same gymnasts. For all practical purposes, they're dead even.
