Breakdancing Soul Pilgrim
The American one is far more sitcom-y. I think David Brent was a far more believable character than Michael. David was a complete idiot, Michael is more of a character. I think Dwight is funny, but way too over the top (the "Future Dwight" intro is one of my favorite moments of any show ever). The BBC version was never really about David, it was always a love story about Tim and Dawn. David was the boss, and maybe the main character, but he was never the central focus. The American one is more focused on Michael Scott than anything else. The Jim/Pam story, though right upfront, is not the center of the show, at least not now. And the last ten minutes of the BBC version is perfection.
I also love Dwight's Mussolini inspired speech. That was brilliant. I like Jim's goofs on the NBC version, they alone are a reason to watch. I just hope that the show doesn't crumble under it's success, which I think is bound to happen to a show of this type.
