Let's see how good Priceline really is...can they get me a 4-star hotel in New York for a Saturday night for $50?

OK, so here's a little bit of a background on this. Every year, the school board sends all the Grade 7 French immersion students to a French Camp for 4 days to Université Sainte-Anne, on the Acadian Shore here in Nova Scotia.

Since I work at a school with two Grade 7 French classes, I was asked to come along on the trip as a chaperone. They're the greatest bunch of 12 and 13 year olds you'll find on this planet, I promise you that.

All these are in chronological order.

This is a shot of the campus from the huge marsh between campus and Baie Sainte-Marie. Taken during an activity the kids did during a nature walk where they had to make a "nature snowman" (a "bonhomme-nature", as the counselors called it) from stuff found in nature.

This is a kid named Daniel who's showing off a reed he found in the marsh.

Some of the kids during the building of their "nature snowman".

This is Cam, with some of the stuff he found in the marsh.

This kid in front with the huge pieces of driftwood is Mark. Also in front is Brandon, with a piece of driftwood he found that, according to him, is shaped like some kind of elephant gun.

This is what I like to call the Charlie's Angels shot. This is Brandon (again with the Elephant Gun), Justin, and Kaleigh holding a plank of some sort.

This is Michael W, staring directly into the Sun.

More of the kids during the "nature snowman" activity.

This is "Les Filles" (The Girls) on the balcony of their residence, taken from the balcony of the boys' residence during some sort of shouting match at other schools in the rain.

More to come!

There's a big flag with the school's name and logo painted onto it that one of the teachers brought with her. During this shouting match (see previous post), some of the kids grabbed it and just started running around the campus with it screaming their heads off. This is them leaving...

...and this is them coming back with the flag.

Once I finally got them to stand still and hold the flag, this is the picture that came out.

Later that day, the kids went to the pool. While I was swimming, one of the teachers took this picture of Justin.

I think I was trying to take a picture of the kids in behind here, but Sasha ran across looking like she was about to choke someone to death.

This is Cam starting to run away from me for some reason.

And here we have Mike S. and Bruce. Mike S kicked me in the balls last night because I correctly guessed the girl he has a crush on and blurted it out by mistake. It was accidental though.

Cam, having stolen Mike S.'s hat, is now putting on his best gangsta pose.

This is Justin putting some sort of choke hold on Brandon (it was done jokingly). Walking out of frame on the right side is Alex W, and standing in back looking like he's singing to himself is Daniel again.

Some of the girls chatting away on the lawn.

Still more on the way!!

And here's some of "Les Filles" up close. It's Kara, Lauren, Beth (in back), Tessa, Jenny (in front), Justin (somehow managed to get into the picture without a single person noticing), Kristen, Kaleigh, Sarah, and Makayla. That is, of course, L-R.

A shot of the left side of the bus on the way home.

And the right side of the bus.

Brandon and his pal snoozing on the bus.

Yours truly. I was passed a stuffed animal and that crazy pillow and someone happened to have my camera at the time.

Me and Kaleigh on the bus trip home. This is a retardulously bad picture of me because my face is smashed up on the headrest of the seat.

Sasha and Jordan on the bus and goofing around.

Alex G lying on Mercedes. I have no idea why this shot is so blurry.

Brandon waking up from his snooze.

And finally, my favorite shot and my new desktop background...

Here are my kids. Minus 3 girls and 3 boys.

Damn I love those kids.

Hello all. I just finished the most awesome sandwich from the most awesome deli. Salami, Prosciutto, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed bell peppers and provolone on dutch crunch bread.

Dave, those are awesome pictures! I work at a junior high and I can relate....it's so easy to get attached to the kids. There are several that I've gotten close to and am dreading their leaving to go to High School. I'm trying to weasel my way into a chaperone position to Europe.... I'd be in heaven!

I'm going for sushi tomorrow...

Believe it or not, the thought of that does not make me want to puke my guts out like it would have this morning.

*looks at wine bottle longingly*

One glass couldn't hurt...

I just got back for a bike ride. Nothing like a ride on the trail to make me feel refreshed. Now I am all hot and sweaty though...
