I'm truly scared the direction this country is going to go. And our economy and personal freedoms! I'm especially worried how it going to go with our foreign relations..... plus don't even get me started on how terrified I am for Africa.

I'm really heartbroken about this.
I have to respectfully disagree on a few points:

Ohio has been hit very hard by the Recession so I understand your fears. I only hope that it gets better. Nationwide the unemployment rate is at 5.4% which is better than it was in 1996 during Clinton's reelection.

Personal Freedoms: The Patriot Act was overwhelmingly passed by the both parties. After the fact, it has been used as a political football. I have to admit that I haven't read it, but from my understanding, most of the provisions allow the government to treat terrorist cells in the same way that they have treated the Mafia. I need to read this legislation so I understand it better, but from what I've heard, this isn't as expansive as people have said.

Foreign relations is a legitimate concern, I don't think we can afford to leave it poisonous, hopefully some olive branches will be distributed. We'll see.

I don't know why you are terrified about Africa. Bono admitted that Clinton talked about it, but delivered nothing. Bush has already committed 15 billion in Aid. It may not be enough, but it is something and a lot more than the previous 8 years produced. I believe that Bono is doing God's work and has given him special favor to do it, and Bono's humility in going to the Republicans and Evangelicals is what will produce fruit. Once you win the hearts and minds of these two groups, you have begun to win the war.

On a personal note, my stomach has been in knots all morning, seeing how upset you all are. I know we won't always agree on some of this, but we aren't here because we all believe the same things, we're united by our love for U2.

>>> Puts on One <<<

Dance with me Stars?

Is it getting better?
Or do you feel the same?
Will it make it easier on you now?
You got someone to blame
You say

One love
One life
When it's one need
In the night
One love
We get to share it
Leaves you baby if you
Don't care for it

Did I disappoint you?
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
Well it's

Too late
Tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We're one, but we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other
One

Have you come here for forgiveness?
Have you come to raise the dead?
Have you come here to play Jesus?
To the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much?
More than a lot.
You gave me nothing,
Now it's all I got
We're one
But we're not the same
Well we
Hurt each other
Then we do it again
You say
Love is a temple
Love a higher law
Love is a temple
Love the higher law
You ask me to enter
But then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what you got
When all you got is hurt

One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life
But we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

One

One

stars - sweetie - it will be okay as starsforu2 said - the people here make up what America stands for - this is your first election and it sucks when you invest in something and it doesn;t pull through. But agreed the reason we are here is that we love U2 (Starsforu2 - what is your real name? I'm calling you both stars and I'm confusing myself)
so guys here - this is for starsgoblue - I know this belongs more in PLEBA but I'm trying to cheer her up - so here it goes......
COS in all its glory

The Octogon Bar is awesome!!! Have you had a chance to grab a bite at the Tea Room? My wife met the Edge there last year when we were their. He was having a bite to eat prior to attending the Paul Mac concert.

Can't wait to go back!!!

octagon bar does rock totally - havent been to the tea room yet though. i thought unlike octagon you had to be a guest to go in there

i was in dublin about 3 weeks ago and we jsut spent about 4 hours of everyday just chilling in octagon - its soooo nice in there and the drinks are amazing.
i so wanna go back again and again and again - every weekend!

Hi Welcome, as a babyface, it's customary that the first drink is free. Can I get you something?

Hey Digsy, I've been meaning to ask you something. I think I read that you had picked up the 12" for Vertigo. Where did you get it? Did you get it from a retailer or Ebay? I don't want to pay gouged prices if I can help it. I'm way behind on my collecting.

yeah i got the 12" off ebay cause its the promo and comes with the press sheet. it was really difficult to get because ebay keep pulling vertigo auctions as the item is not realeased yet so it violates copyright - i had to be really quick to get mine.

if you're just looking for the standard 12" release when it comes out and not a promo or anythign fancy then try this guy
http://www.reflexcd.co.uk

he doesnt list it on the site but here is an email i got about it

In addition to the pre-order info I sent the list last week on Vertigo I can now confirm that there is to be a 12" single commercially released in the UK

Price to pre-order the 12" is £3.99
Cat.No. 12IS878
Dont have track listing as yet

Shipping
UK £1
Europe £2
Rest of World £3

just fill out an order form with your details and the item details. he's also selling all the vertigo formats if you're interested

.

otherwise if its mroe promo stuff you're interested in ebay is your best bet - mine wasnt cheap though! but then collectin gU2 is me new hobby so i dont mind!

Thanks Digsy! The price seems decent. I tend to wait out Ebay, until things get to a more reasonable price. Then again, I still haven't bought THTBA because the price doesn't seem to want to go below $30

People were paying vast amounts of cash for the BD promo on CD in 2000, I waited until the dust settled and snatched it for under $10. I'm waiting for Vertigo to do the same.

havnet got that one myself for tha same reason - theres a lot of stuff i dont have because i still think prices are unreasonable, but then there's other stuff i'll pay a blind fortune for because i think its worth it!
