Report coming off of channel 5 Boston news is that Adam fired his agent of ten years yesterday to go with a new agent and got the Colts deal today. This is no longer a story of the Colts pursuing Adam it it a story of Adam pursuing the Colts.

Interestingly enough 2 years ago in jacksonville at the superbowl I sat next to Adam's agent (sorry name slipping me) and he told me just how hurt Adam was the year before (in Houston) when he missed those field goals. He then said he was suprised by how well he was playing that year. (he also told me same great storied of just how crazy Vrabel is but that is for another time)
I think Adam is not exactly the young 100% healthy God he was before and wanted to go to a dome....and he wanted to get the f---out of New England.

now i know adam vinatieri has been one of the most clutch kickers in NFL history...

but...

we're still talking about a fucking kicker here. some of you are acting like tom brady just left.

as great as vinatieri is, and he is great, someone had to put him in the position to make those kicks in the first place.

is it a loss? yes... is it a franchise changing loss? no

True enuf. Doesn't mean we're not allowed to feel sick about it though.

I agree Headache and always have...kickers are replacable...it being the Colts just smarts. The Pats do have the Colts at home though next year-should be fun!!

I don't care if he's a fucking kicker and someone had to put him in the position to make the kicks...he MADE the kicks, plain and simple.

I'm sure if his foot had helped the Giants win three Super Bowls, you'd be a bit pissed right now too, kicker or not.

And it's not like the money was that much more.

Well, Vinatieri has made his last Super Bowl winning kick, thats just been guaranteed along with his guaranteed 3.5Mil signing bonus.
Headache's right...he's a kicker and very replaceable. Its unfortunate cause of the clutch kicks he made for the franchise (the one to tie the snow bowl vs Oakland to me is the most clutch kick in NFL history), but his leg isn't as strong as a lot of kickers, he hasn't had a 50 yarder in like 3 years, and he's getting older...Paul Edinger will do fine in Foxboro.

im not saying its franchise changing, but it does sting a little. it just hurts even more that he had to go to the friggin' colts. is the sky falling? no.

vanderjaggoff had met with the dolphins who were thinking of cutting mare. i wouldn't really mind mare, but I doubt the pats sign him. they are supposedly having keyshawn meet sometime this week in foxboro and they also have an interest in lavarr arrington...they have a little over 20 million in cap room i believe.

I hope you're right and I don't have to quote this the first time Edinger misses a potential game-winning kick...

You know Peyton, Adam's not going to like it very much when you wave off the field-goal team on fourth down.

We're talking Edinger here, not Vanderjagt.
