This has been an issue for me as well; the new "glitzy" smilies are what cause it. SkeeK and them told me to hit the "stop" button on my browser, but when I am on AOL, that button is not always live/hittable.

hey it worked. can't you just use explorer or netscape outside of aol running? i know i could way back when with aol canada(what an oxymoron!) 'cause i hated all the aol 'content'.

it looks as though my dog will be ok after all. yay!

I could invoke my Netscape, but I have gotten to where I enjoy the blinking cursor.

Dammit there is nothing wrong with the blinking cursor. I like it, its trippy and almost mesmerising.

Kobeson, here is a smilie just for you.

The first time I saw the blinking cursor I had been up for about 22 hours straight.
I thought it was just me.
This post has saved me a lot in sleeping pills. Thanks.

Am I the only person who didn't notice the blinking cursor until reading this thread?

Here's an intelligent question, what's a cursor and where is it blinking?
