I was going to say that. Noah is indeed a charming name. My brothers middle name is Edwin, which is a truely sucky name.

Both my grandfather and uncle are named Edwin. My grandfather wanted to name my mother Edwina but thank god my grandma said NO.

If i had been born on my father's bithday (6 days after mine) my parents were going to name me Casey, after him. I got another androgenous name instead, but was named after my aunt.

Edwina is an even suckier name. There is an unfortunate woman in my family tree by the name of Wilga.

Caseys alright. Very USA. I have never met a Casey. I thought it was a boys name because of that train driver guy.

Laura, until my dad came up with the brilliant - "Hey, it's April, and she was born in April, so... "

If I was a boy, I would have been a Michael.

You'd be my two-buck Chuck!!!

My birth name is Ricardo; thankfully, the nurse typed my birth certificate as Richard! thank you whereever you are!

I think Doozer was supposed to be Kaffy-Lino - an old family name!

my parents hadn't picked out any other girls names. this was what they'd settled on. i'm named after my two grandmothers.

they couldn't decide on boys names...they had a bunch picked out like john and whatnot. my dad is the third in his family (meaning he's named after his dad who's named after his dad) and he said he didn't want to carry on tradition, because blah blah the fourth sounds like a pompous asshole or royalty.

no offense to any fourths here!

i have an uncle named casey. that whole casey jones thing (that's the railroad guy, i can still remember parts of that shitty song we learned in school) happened about an hour away from where i live. supposedly my ex-best friend is related to him, but jones is a pretty fucking common last name and given her tendency to lie and exaggerate, i don't believe her.

Other girl names: Ann Ruth (I still got stuck with Ruth as my middle name) or Jennifer Rebecca. I'm so happy they picked Amanda instead.....I can't imagine being Ann or Jenny

Boy: Andrew. One parent wanted to shorten it to Andy and one wanted Drew. I can't remember who wanted what but I have a feeling whatever my mom wanted would have been my nickname.

Good question. I'll have to ask the next time I talk to them.

I have no clue. All I know is that if I had been a boy I would have been Patrick Joseph instead of Patricia Jo. I was named for my uncle.

Marsha.
My older sister, who was almost 4 when I was born, was convinced that "Marsha" was short for "Marshmallow".

I'm so glad they changed their minds.

I've nothing against the name Noah... but it really doesn't suit me at all.

Do you think your name affects your personality? Seriously. I have often wondered this. My full name is Belinda which is kinda heavy and serious. I wonder if I would have turned out to be the same person if my name was Tiffany Fifi Amber Bimbo, or sumfin.

I don't really know, but if I had been a boy my parents would have named me Augusto Federico.
