The most annoying thing in the world

I have this song stuck in my head.
Only I DON'T know the lyrics, only the tune...

something to the effect of:

doo doo doo...
doo
doo doo doo
doo
when i was seventeen

I think. For all I know I may have made this up. I do that, you know. But I'm driving myself crazy until anyone can figure it out
(and if you can figure it out, I owe you my life....or at least my sanity).

I googled it just for the hell of it and came up with Liz Phair's "Fuck and Run," which contains the lyric "Even when I was seventeen," but I don't think that's the song your describing.

It's funny though, I've sometimes wondered why there are a ton of songs that reference the age 'seventeen' like it's some magical number.

This sounds like a cross between "SUmmer Lovin" from Grease and Joan Jett

Is it a guy or girl singing? New song, classic rock, or what?

Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?

There's also "The Edge of Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks.
