3) Dancing Queen

You poor thing. If I had that song stuck in my head all day, I'd go nuts.

I still remember the weirdest combination of songs that I ever had in my head-it was U2's "Gloria" and Tiny Tim's "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" (my mom had been watching "Laugh In" on TRIO that morning, and Tiny Tim was on there and he sang that song, that's how it got stuck in there). I was sitting there in geometry class that day hearing Bono and Tiny Tim go back and forth: "Glooooriaaaa...oh, tiptoe through the tulips with me..."..

You used to hate the clash?

:reject:

yeah...i did. it was all because i hated everything that wasn't the beatles, and there was that beatlemania line...being the complete nerd that i was, i decided that anything that mentioned the beatles without saying how great they were, was evil. i hated REM for a similar reason, because michael stipe was quoted in some article i read, saying the beatles didn't mean shit to him. i wouldn't watch animaniacs because they poked fun at 'a hard day's night'...what else...i can't remember. but i can tell you i was an odd kid. i didn't like the counting crows because i'd mixed them up with radiohead (still not sure about that), and i didn't like radiohead.

:coocoo:

song stuck in my head now: down by law--fly the flag
song stuck in my head this morning: hudson falcons--the right way
song stuck in my head before the hudson falcons song: agnostic front--before my eyes
song i've never had stuck in my head (but should have): barenaked ladies--one week
song i had stuck in my head for an entire week in 7th grade: the beatles--good day sunshine
the other song that was stuck with 'good day sunshine': the beatles--and your bird can sing

Top 10 Albums of 2003

The Decemberists - Her Majesty?
Calexico ? Feast of Wire
Lyrics Born ? Later That Day
Radiohead ? Hail to the Thief

Moloko ? Statues
British Sea Power ? The Decline of?
Outkast ? Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
Elbow ? Cast of Thousands

and add in Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - Hearts of Oak as a special mention.

And this isn't considering Broken Social Scene and Notwist as having come out in 2003, but rather in 2002.

And now I am considering, heavily, sleep.

Another Day, another dollar. But I won't make a thread about it.

HLG reminded me that I'd forgotten of Manic Street Preachers. Add The Clash to the list too.

This year could end up being a POWERHOUSE for music.

Here's a list-

CDs I want to listen to right now, but cannot decide which to spin:

Sparta - 'Porcelain'
Dismemberment Plan - 'Emergency & I'
Fiery Furnaces - 'Blueberry Boat'
Morrissey - 'You are the Quarry'
Franz Ferdinand - self-titled
Interpol - 'Turn On the Bright Lights'

Some songs I like lately that I feel like I should probably be embarrassed about in some way:

Alphaville - 'Forever Young' (Special Dance Version)
Jimmy Eat World - 'Game of Pricks (Guided By Voices cover that sounds 100% identical to the original)
Nelly Furtado - 'Forca'
Nelly Furtado - 'Powerless'
Nelly Furtado - 'Try'
The Rasmus - 'In the Shadows'
The Used - 'Bulimic'
When In Rome - 'The Promise'
Yellowcard - 'Way Away'

Records that I got at a garage sale Friday for a quarter each:

*The Kingsman--In Person (featuring Louie, Louie of course!)
*U2--October (it feels so wonderful to watch my U2 vinyl collection grow over the years!)
*Thelonius Monk--The Golden Monk
*Miles Davis--Facets
*The Mamas and Papas--If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears

As for The Kingsman, Miles, and Thelonius Monk...I cannot believe they let me have those albums for so cheap. They said they had planned on selling all three of them online to see what they could get for them, but then decided not to. Heh, their loss.
