The Last Mimzy (Roger Waters included!)

I thought this would be a children's movie at first, but no, it looks like a really good PG sci-fi movie. Plus, Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office) is in it and Roger Waters recorded a new song for the soundtrack.

Sci-Fi + Dwight + Waters = winner for me.

Check out the trailer here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/newlin...imzy/large.htm

IMDb page: http://imdb.com/title/tt0768212/

Could this be a quality family film? You know, not with CGI animals but things everyone might like?

I just heard this song on the radio.

Roger Waters can do MUCH better. Very gimmicky (the entire chous is "Hello hello hello hello, is there anybody in there?" and the verse namedrops Dark Side of the Moon).

I will admit I thought it kinda sucked.

I couldn't get the trailer link to work, LMP. It might just be my problem, however. I also found another preview on youtube:

The RW song is streaming here:

In the context of a film, I think it sounds incredible. It's an easy target, because it's reminiscent of classic Pink Floyd...but the lyrics make it pretty relevant. A prelude to the big PF reunion tour, perhaps?

It sounds like a mellow Brain Damage mixed with some Atom Heart Mother/Ummagumma-era stuff.

The movie looks very good too.

I just listened again, and got chills. Call me crazy, but could Roger be partly singing about Dave Gilmour here?

"..It was on the news...you can make your peace on the dark side of the moon...I'll see you there, we can rock & roll...we can make our choice, we can say goodbye or say hello..."

Christ, I didn't think I could hear every Pink Floyd production cliche rolled into song, but there you go.
