I really love this band!

I'm started listening to it 1 year ago and I bought Arthur.
I loved it so much so I bought the other great kinks albums: Village green..., Something else, face to face, muswell hillbillies and lola vs powerman and the...

Now I'm listening to Preservation act 1 and Preservation act 2, I read bad reviews but I absolutely love this albums.

My favourite songs are:

Skin & Bone
Mirror of love
Acute schizophrena paranoia blues
Here come the people in grey
The contenders
and lots and lots of others....

As the first person to start a B&C Kinks thread, I herby declare that 3 is not too many. In fact, it probably isn't enough.

I read somewhere that Peter Buck of REM was shown the actual "Waterloo Sunset" when they were in England to record an album and that it was a ugly, polluted industrial park view.

Still a great song and Something else is a classic album.

What are your favourite albums?

Mine

1. Muswell hillbillies
2. Arthur (or the rise and fall of the brittish emire)
3. Preservation act 1

I'm glad to see this thread. I saw the Kinks several times way back when and they always put on a good show. I don't think the Kinks ever got the same recognition as the other English band of their era like the Beatles, Stones, the Who, etc. Ray Davies wrote some great songs as mentioned earlier.
