As said in the original post, it's referring to the idea of a concept album.

The hard part for me is whether I make a brand new concept or whether I use Part III of Aotearoa: Rugged Individual (which is nearly complete). As I fear this mini-tournament is the direction the game in general is heading, I may just submit Part III.

I'm starting to get some confidence in my playlist now. Of the 17 artists chosen for it, 11 were not on my DI3 playlist, which is good, but the best part is the atmosphere of it. It was intended as the soundtrack to an imaginary espionage psycho-sexual drama (with a little comedy thrown in) I was working on, so it's all pretty dark. Dark and intense, but playful enough that it should be fun. You all know me too well to expect me to put something together without it being a little tongue in cheek. :sexywink:

Count me in. I just hope my hard drive issues are resolved soon.

Group 2 winner vs. Group 1 Runner-up
Group 3 winner vs. Group 4 Runner-up
Group 4 winner vs. Group 3 Runner-up

Group 3 is officially the Group of Death.

I think Group 2 may just be the Group of Life. Hooray!

(This is especially true for the other three contestants if I submit something stacked with hyper-obscure prog and Kiwi bands.)

Group 2 pride, baby!

My musical tastes for the most part are unknown to everyone here. Even myself. I currently have 66 minutes of material that I continually alter around to try to get some semblance of flow.

And this is 1/3 the length of the Desert Island! Quite the struggle.

Axver in my group. I may as well just quit now lol.

Now one thing about the flow thing, is it going to count against you if don't get every track flowing perfectly in and out of each other? Cos that will be hard.

It's actually half the length. 80 minutes vs. 160 minutes.

And I see I'm in the "Group Of Death" again...

You see, I see 2:40 and I think 240 minutes. Whoops.

It's still rough for me.

I'm so close to finishing mine, the ending just rubs me the wrong way.

I've got some great transitions, some that are good but not great, and some rougher ones. Trying to smooth them all out.

Me too, I can say already it's Radiohead-tastic.

One Kid A track, one Eraser track, and one Bodysong track.

All for Axver really.

 I already feel like a jackass for using the same Radiohead track as you. But dang, three Radiohead-related songs? That's just not fair. :lmao:

I tried not using them, but they fit perfectly with what I'm trying to do.

Any Jonny Greenwood fan who hasn't heard the Bodysong soundtrack needs to right now. It's all instrumental, mainly Kid A/Amnesiac inspired stuff with some jazz and string arrangements. I can't get enough of it.

Did you get any Passengers in there? I had Always Forever Now and Your Blue Room in there before I entered the list, but decided to remove YBM once the rules were applied.

I used Miss Sarejevo. I swear I have to be using too much well-known music.

I have A Different Kind of Blue as the penultimate track. The First Time is stuck in there, too, for good measure.

I'm also close to using that badass song from Kill Bill in there, too.
