Well, despite me having taken a good 4 or 5 hours last Thursday afternoon/evening putting it together, downloading songs, arranging them, etc., nobody in the Philly gang got to hear my Canuck Mix on my MP3 player.

So here's an idea that I really like. Post up a mix of songs of artists from your own country, and I'll download it and put it on my MP3 player for a week.

It can be up to about 50 songs, because all I have is a 256 MB player.

I also realize this is much easier for Americans, but as they say, c'est la vie. ;)

Give'r!

The Tragically Hip - It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken
The Trews - Burn The Grass Red
The Trews - Fire Up Ahead
The Trews - So She's Leaving

There's actually no order to this at all. It works particularly well on "shuffle" though. :)

I avoided the Canadian artists that everyone's heard, like Neil Young and Bryan Adams and such. So that basically left me with the quintessential Canadian band that very very few Americans have even heard of, but who are sacred up here, The Tragically Hip. :D

I think I'll be seeing the Hip in the summer (at the Salmon Festival in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL).

As for songs by people from my home country...I can't say I listen to very many South African artists. You might want to look up some stuff by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, but their music isn't spectacular. :| There's only one South African musician I feel is worth listening to, and he's a comedian. Leon Schuster! If you can find "Taxi Song" download it. It's hilarious!

Edit: Ugh, got the name of the song wrong.
