How did he screw it up? If it is a complaint about what he took out, well he really couldn't have included everything, I mean in the book it takes Frodo a few years to even leave the Shire, really something you could not have shown in the film, and Tom Bombadil, was generally irrelevant to the narrative.

I thought he remained pretty true to the books.

It's just a personal thing I guess. I just didn't care for some of the things he left out...I knwo not everything can be left in...but still. I'm not gonna argue about it, so don't bother

How can you have a great Hobbit movie without the same Gollum, Gandalf, e.t.c. It just wouldn't be the same.

But Batman Begins saved those film series. I hope they keep whoever directed that one.

your comments just seem a little indifferent, if you won't bother to elaborate.

peter jackson did a good job , no doubts about it .
but the whole buzz that came afterwards , some many oscars , i mean it's a good movie , but it's a fairy-tale after all .
i don't know , Tolkien was against making the movies .
now it's out of control , kids will watch the movies , and will not read the books , next thing , hobbit will turn into startrek popcorn show

The plot thickens...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2...550342,00.html

Considering this is from "The Sun", I won't believe it until PJ himself confirms it... which will be strange, because he already confirmed he wasn't directing the film. I'm really confused. LOL.
