The Greenhornes

(I did look in the band index first.)

So, this is the band that's opening for the White Stripes Monday night. Should I be 'cited?

I was going to start a similar thread about M. Ward, who opens for them Thursday night but I found one in the band index.

Where are your seats Martha?

Section B, row A.

Are you going Monday night?

On a related note, no one can tell me about this band?

From allmusic:

A five-piece from Cincinnati, the Greenhornes take the best elements of '60s R&B, blues, and British Invasion and distill it down to their own brand of Midwestern garage rock. Their original compositions consistently come across with a level of songwriting maturity which belies the fact that they're a group of barely 20-somethings. Along with the White Stripes and the Mooney Suzuki, the Greenhornes are among the vanguard in a garage/blues-rock revival which has largely emanated from the Rust Belt. The band released their debut album, Gun for You in 1999. The Greenhornes, their sophomore release, was released on Telstar in 2001.

I've heard of them, but I've never actually heard them before.

M. Ward opening for the White Stripes? That is odd but interesting.

martha, you're seeing too many good shows this summer. You're having just a little bit too much fun.

If it's good enough for Jack White, it's good enough for me.

A band you haven't heard before. Then they are obscure.

Ok, so I saw these guys Monday night opening for the White Stripes. (ohmygod, don't ask me how fucking incredible they were )

Anyway, they sound good. Sort of raw "roots" style. If I were to see one of their records for cheap, I'd buy it.

We're back!

The seats were great but the only drawback was we couldn't see Meg, which really disappointed Mr. BAW. Eventually some people left our section and we were able to move down a little and get a better view.

And guess what? Martha was there again!

Oh man, what a show! I think it was the best concert I've been to in years. I wish I could have seen all 4 shows.
