What is the attraction with these guys? Why do people like this get record deals? Why are the majority of my friends into them now and going to their show in a couple weeks?

Well, on late nights when everything else is paid programming, I leave VH1 on since they play continuous videos and every now and then a good one sneaks in. The Fray is one of their "You Oughta Know" artists so their video is in heavy rotation. Not only that, but my roommate and another good friend are big fans now, with tickets to see them in Dallas on the 11th.

I've had to listen to the entire album by merit of being in the car with either one of them, and it's awful stuff. The fact that their singer is a ginger kid with a lame faux-hawk doesn't help.
