The first album I bought with my own money was:

Cassette: George Michael's 'Faith'
CD: U2's 'Rattle and Hum'
 
First cassette: Classic Queen
First CD: Talk by Yes (I know, kind of a weird first CD. I had about 20 tapes at that point.)

I don't recall my first CD, cassette or 8-Track (yes I had those

It was some Take That album on tape and the first album on cd was the Joshua Tree

i think i was 8 or 9 maybe 10...well jsut one of those ages.

I remember vividly my first album purchase,
David Bowie "Space Oddity" on vinyl, cost $4Aus.
Can't recall cassette and CD.

PS: I've remembered the CD, Jeff Beck "Blow by Blow"("cause we ended as lovers"...fave song)
and cassette I think Rod Stewart "Atlantic Crossing" maybe

previously I taped everything off the radio and if you really want to know, some of the first music I liked that wasn't fed to me was uhh.. Chumbawumba. now that you have lost any slight respect you might've had for me, I'll be leaving.......
