I haven't heard a ton of stuff by her, but I must agree that she has such a beautiful voice. A very emotion-inducing one, too-I heard "This Woman's Work" the other day, and started crying. I do that when I hear "Don't Give Up", too. Her voice just does something to me.

Can't say I disagree with other names mentioned in this thread-I can think of songs I like from a lot of the artists in here.

I like several listed here, so no need to add them again. One I like no one else has mentioned (leave it to me to like obscure :rolleyes: ) is Jasmine Yee of the band Halogen.
 
Mary Margaret O'Hara (if you like Sinead)
Lhasa (en espanol; Bjork-y but huskier)
Maria McKee (her older stuff is better)
Imani Coppola (sort of alt-R&B...David Byrne protegee)
