For fans of the Leonard Cohen song "Hallelujah," this might be a really interesting read.

How did the song go from a Leonard Cohen tune even Cohen bios skipped over, to a song that equalled emotional pop culture shorthand for "behold, I am sad and/or facing a difficult decision"?

Disclaimer: I'm one of those weirdos who thinks Jeff Buckley didn't do enough in his brief musical life to justify all the post-death adoration he's gotten since his passing. But I absolutely love his take on "Hallelujah" .... which is pretty much his take on John Cale's version of the Cohen song. But read on, this is pretty interesting:
