The Driving Music List Thread

Okay peeps... time for you all to post recommendations for the best goddamn music to listen to while driving! It could be something that gets your adrenaline (and accelerator?) pumping or maybe something quieter for night-time driving.

Here are 2 cassettes (90 min) I made for my car. No... I don't have a CD player in my car.

ROAD TRIPPIN'

1. Rock And Roll - Led Zeppelin
2. Highway Star - Deep Purple
3. Panama - Van Halen
4. Runnin' Down A Dream - Tom Petty
5. Rear View Mirror - Pearl Jam
6. Nightrain - Guns n' Roses
7. Texarkana - REM
8. Turn The Page - Metallica
9. More Than A Feeling - Boston
10. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
11. Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen
12. Rockin' Down The Highway - Doobie Brothers
13. The Boys Of Summer - Don Henley
14. The Unforgettable Fire - U2

ROAD TRIPPIN' II

1. Highway To Hell - AC/DC
2. L.A. Woman - The Doors
3. Travelin' Band - CCR
4. Life In The Fast Lane - Eagles
5. With Or Without You - U2
6. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
7. Everyday Is A Winding Road - Sheryl Crow
8. Driver 8 - REM
9. It Keeps You Runnin' - Doobie Brothers
10. Wild Night - John Mellencamp
11. You Could Be Mine - Guns n' Roses
12. Run To The Hills - Iron Maiden
13. Wherever I May Roam - Metallica
14. Welcome To Paradise - Green Day
15. Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
16. Machinehead - Bush
17. 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins
18. Hysteria - Def Leppard
19. Mr. Brownstone - Guns n' Roses
20. Road Trippin' - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Somehow I was able to fit more into that 2nd tape.

i've got 3 bruce springsteen mix tapes that get re-tracklisted each summer (they're on version #3 now). those are my favorite thing to listen to while driving.

or riding as the case may be, since i still don't have my license. and i'm well over 16.

I didn't get my license till I was 24.

Radar Love by Golden Earring may be a bit of a cliche, but it's a great driving song.

Get Down Moses by Joe Strummer
Subterranean Homesick Alien by Radiohead (Ok almost all of OK Computer then)
Discotheque by some damn group usually makes me have to keep one eye on the rearview

Aha, at last someone posts a 'list'!

Cmon people, I'm sure you would have made at least one CD compilation for your car sometime. Or you could just comment on mine if you like.

I made several cd car mixes which I use. Right now they are all The Church songs. I have one early Church, a couple mid period Church, and a couple recent Church. (yep, I really am obsessed )

I do have to be careful though about my song choices, as I was listening to one of their cds while driving and kept spacing out and nearly drove off the road. So I'm probably not the best choice for picking driving music.

Oh my God...

From my list, I was especially enjoying listening to Pearl Jam's Mirror and GNR's Nightrain today.
