basically there isn't anything about them that i do like. i don't like the fact that the songs are 30 years long, in particular.

technically they're the musical perfection (in my opinion ) about the lenght of the songs, ok, there are many which are too long, but you never get bored because they're "progressive", you know what i mean...3/4, 4/4, 6/8, double pedal, continous change of time, sweep, absurd solos, fingerpicking, lots of scales...and so on and so on...just for example...dream theater is an orchestra not a band, they're masters (in my opinion )

i don't really like solos. i'm not going to say i hate all solos, but usually anything over than 30 seconds starts to make me cringe.

i do get bored because while there are all sorts of things happening in the music, i don't care. that doesn't grab me like a good 2 minute punk song might.

eh...

it's just my music taste. props to you if you like 'em, ain't my cup of tea.

heh, they have a couple good songs. It's just LeBrie's vocals that kills it for me, but Portoy is a drum god.
