I like Paul's solo work most of all, but compared to John and George, I think his work with the Beatles is lacking a bit, and that's what matters most to me.

Ram is the shit though. I can't deny this.

I've long wanted to create a B&C thread asking what the Beatles albums would have been constructed with if they'd lasted through '75. If those albums were to come out once a year, with 15 tracks, with only songs that were on the members' solo albums.

That, and overrated like hell. And I don't see how the fuck he was 'the cute one' :eyebrow:

Well, yeah but they were always rich.

I know Julian got married a little bit before the last album came out. Maybe he's just settling down. Tryin to start a family maybe?

By the way, Julian is one of my favorite frontmen of all-time. The Strokes don't get talked about nearly enough on this site.

I like The Strokes quite a bit and wish I had access to the effect he uses on his vocals.

That's a great thread idea, and you should make it.

I must say, there are enough great songs on All Things Must Pass to support about three really great Beatles records.

But Living in the Material World has some great songs on it, too! I think I'll hold onto that idea for a short while. I actually have been meaning to "make" those albums. Of course, Ringo would be ignored by me.

Do you sing? I remember you mentioning somewhere that you play guitar but I didn't know you were a singer, too. I'm sure you could somehow find an effect to use that's similar to the one Julian uses.

Well...

It Don't Come Easy > What Goes On as far as Ringo contributions are concerned, if that's saying anything.

I sing when I play acoustic by myself. I play lead guitar in my band, though. I have tracks from my old band in B&C, and a solo acoustic song in there too. The stickied thread.

Okay, I really liked that Porcupine Tree song, Axver will be pleased  Also excellent segue into this QotSA song, I barely realized the track had changed

Cool, Blackest Eyes got me interested in PT. I'm disappointed that my fellow Musketeers couldn't get into it. They let me down on that one. :tsk:

Suture Up Your Future

One of my favs off the new QotSA. But that's not saying much as I don't think it's all that great.

It is kind of a mixed bag, isn't it? I really like Turnin' On The Screw, Into The Hollow, Make It Wit Chu, and Suture Up Your Future, but the rest is neither here nor there for me.

Make It Wit Chu makes the album for it for me.

I still haven't gotten around to listening to the demo version from the Desert Sessions, but I hear it's a lot more raw. I actually like how slinky and unusual it is for the band right now.

Makes me think it should feature in, like, porn or something, y'know?

If I wasn't so hell-bent on my theme (Someone's In The Wolf, with the sounds of sharpening knives was a nice touch, I thought), I might've used it this time. Ah well. Maybe next time. Like March or whateverthefucker.

I really like this Spiritualized song.

Me too. I think I first heard it in Vanilla Sky. Though I heard the original, first printing in the UK had a snippet of the singer singing "Can't Help Falling In Love". I want that version!
