Alrighty then, I've got the Charlatans "Live It Like You Love It" live CD. I've had it for a while back. I haven't really connected to it yet, but I'd like to try it with a studio CD. Will any good Charlies fan be kind to recommend a place to start? Songs, albums, the like.

The two best albums are "Tellin Stories" and "Us and Us Only." They early stuff is really dancey, Manchester sounding type stuff. These 2 are from well after that, Tim Burgess really grew into his own as a singer on these two, and the songs became more free. The hammond organ that had become their trademark was replaced w/ piano, acoustic guitars, other stuff. "Tellin Stories" rocks, some great electric guitar lines, and "Us and Us Only" is full of American influence, some say it sounded like Dylan.

Good band live to, I saw them in NYC in '92 and again in '99.
