Here's a link on this topic

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakup_of_the_Beatles

Forgot to add the death of Brian Epstein was a big blow to them.

BTW, is it true George Martin was at first producing White Album but got annoyed and quit so Chris Thomas finished production on that album ? I know they had to almost crawl back to Martin to work on Abbey Road...

More importantly than any other issues, they weren't functioning as a band post Sgt Pepper, but more like 4 entities.

Beatles were definitely soundtrack to my childhood... I remember obsessively watching Yellow Submarine (dubbed in Russian) with my younger brother and sister,

They wrote a mind-boggling number of classic songs, that's for sure. It's hard to pick a favourite album but for me Rubber Soul probably edges out the rest.

Happiness is Barbara Bach

Good movie worth seeing is the one in which Ringo met Barbara and their romance blossomed. It's called "Caveman" and Barbara looks stunning. Her presence alone is worth 5 stars, whilst the movie itself is decidedly cheesy, but funny

Cheers

From my studies apparently John had become a lazy songwriter by the time Sgt. Pepper came around. And the four entity thing makes sense because essentially the White Album was just 30 songs made by the four members, and was labelled as a Beatles album.

Ringo's two efforts on White Album are by far the best two by the way

Does anyone actually own his solo album? Is it decent?

Which one are you referring to? Ringo has made a number of albums over the years.

His best one by far, however, is Ringo.

Ringo recorded the best post-Beatles song about the Beatles.

Which song is that? My fave in that category is "When We Was Fab" by George Harrison.

Another little comment from Wikipedia's article on George:

Harrison was not at first regarded as a virtuoso guitarist, especially in the early days of The Beatles' recording career. Several of Harrison's Beatles guitar solos were recorded under specific directions from McCartney, who on occasion demanded that Harrison play what he envisioned virtually note-for-note. Other Harrison solos were directed or modified by producer George Martin, who also vetoed several of Harrison's song and instrumental offerings. Martin admitted years later, "I was always rather beastly to George."

Also, apparently Paul said to John in 1969: "George's songs are at least as good as ours".

4 entities aside, it's amazing they still went out on a high note with Abbey Road.

I know.

I also like the White Album, Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper's, and Revolver all more than Abbey Road.

I guess I'm a terrible person.

i want you though...
