No one gives a crap on this board, but for posterity:

Sports Personality of the Year: Andrew Flintoff
Team of the Year: England cricket team
Special Award: Lord Sebastian Coe
Lifetime Achivement: Pele
Coach of the Year: Jose Mourinho
Overseas Personality of the Year: Shane Warne
Young Personality of the Year: Harry Aikenes-Aryeetey
Helen Rollason Award: Geoff Thomas
Unsung Hero Award: Trevor Collins

Yeah and personally Gary Pratt was robbed. He and Peter Crouch.

The public vote counts only for the Sports Personality of the Year, I think.

Warney was just handed the award, I remember his being the first announced on the BBC website.

Anyway since I'm bored the other nominees:

Liverpool FC
Wales Rugby Union Team

Theo Walcott
Francesca Halsall

Coach of the Year:
Jose Mourinho
Duncan Fletcher
Rafael Benitez
Mike Ruddock

Overseas Personality:

I don't know about others but I could write paragraphs on it. Basically, Alonso is fine (although not outstanding). Warne, Federer and especially Armstrong are more "lifetime achivement awards" acknowledging several years of work, rather than just the past year (none of which was there best year anyway). Which is fine if it is some rag tag bunch of awards for the sake of it, but the BBC carries some sort of prestige. :)

Off hand I can't thing of too many alternatives (without being biased), however I would throw Rossi in the mix after what many consider his best season ever. Also I would throw Tana Umaga into the mix after a Lions whitewash, Tri Nations sweep and Grand Slam. If I were privy to the breadth of coverage the BBC has available to them I would probably come up with a few more as well.

Congratulations, Shame Warne! May you continue to inspire young Australians and young cricketers around the world with your drunken sex scandals!

He may be an idiot, but he's a fantastic bowler.

Who has been fined for suspect liasing with bookmakers and suspended for gross violation of ICC's drug code of conduct. :|

If it were anyone else a life ban would have been handed out long ago.
