Just saw this on the Us Kids Know Message Board, and thought it would be fun here, though not very original a concept.

Just list your ten favorite albums of all time. Catch is you can only pick one album per artist. You may order then 1-10 or just list your top 10, doesn't matter.

I'll get things started.

(Not listed in order...too hard...maybe I'll do that later)

U2 - The Joshua Tree
Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle
Radiohead - The Bends
Beck - Sea Change
R.E.M. - Out of Time
The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
David Bowie - Low
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
The Beatles - Rubber Soul

AND, I'm very tempted to put Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on this list, but I'm not right now just because I only discovered it 2 days ago and it's still growing on me. I've no doubt it will find its way on there eventually though.

Do my eyes deceive me or have you actually put a record on your list that hasn't even been officially released yet(Neon Bible)?

The irony :lmao:

I'll try to put my list up here in a while.

 Yes, yes I have. But I had to put something by the Arcade Fire on there, as they're easily in my top 5 bands of all time, maybe even higher, and since I've been listening to Neon Bible nonstop since it leaked, and I already love it more than Funeral...well, there you go. ;)

You know, I'm trying to make a list to post here and it's really very hard. The thing is, I tend to think more in terms of any given band's body of music as a whole - that is, I have a VERY hard time picking just one record per artist.

U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream
Dream Theater - Awake
Anathema - Judgement
Crowded House - Together Alone
Pure Reason Revolution - The Dark Third
The Shadows - The Final Collection
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Orphaned Land - Sahara

U2 - The Joshua Tree
REM - Life's Rich Pageant
Catherine Wheel - Chrome
RUSH - Exit Stage Left (It's a LIVE album, hope that is ok)
Pearl Jam - Vs.
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
10,000 Maniacs - Blind Man's Zoo
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
Radiohead - OK Computer
The Police - Ghost in the Machine

Not in order, and not easy to do, but there it is.

I wouldn't make it very long without being able to hear both Golden Years and Sound And Vision.

Midnite Vultures however is a must, and Beck doesn't have a best of.

A life without Debra is a life without soul.

That whole album really is incredible.

Personal favs include Sexx Laws, Mixed Business (she makes all the lesbians scream), and the amazing Milk and Honey.

It's questionable, actually.

I wanted to do 11 and not 10, so I could include "Who's Next", which to me, is the Who's finest hour. That being said, I love Quadrophenia too.
