i much prefer the NL game. there's much more strategy involved. the idea of the "productive out" is all but non existant in the AL. they don't sacrafice as much, hit and run as much, you never have to decide wether to pitch to the 8 hitter or walk him to force the other manager to make a decision on wether to keep the pitcher in or not... ya just sorta go up there and beat the shit out of the ball.

i will give the red sox credit for one thing... even though they don't show it normaly against the yankees, if any team has a balanced, NL style attack in the AL it's boston. speed at the top of the lineup, power in the middle, speed again at the bottom. they really only have two true homerun hitters, so they tend to have little issue playing the NL style come world series time.

too many sluggers come playoff time and you end up like, well, the yankees.
Totally agree about the NL.

P.S.: Ryan Howard got his $10 million, so he's done. Not only are they going to play him every game while he kills our lineup, they won't move him out of the four spot either.

Chase Utley's intentional walk stat will see a trend this season.

I thoroughly enjoyed his three batter outing today (two homers and and a walk to set up the game winning run against...the Reds!).

I lost $150 because of that inning.

Well, the Sox are showing a trend here of these comeback wins, and winning in the last at-bat. Good stuff. Would have been easy to pack it in yesterday down 5-0 and your best hitter a victim of rabbit ears, but they never quit. Impressive.

Anyone see the quotes from Hank? Apparently he's still pissed that they didn't get Santana, he thinks Joba the Hutt should be starting, and he's tossing the starters under the bus. I love it, it's like the young George all over again...maybe tomorrow he'll call ARod Mr. April?

howard certainly seems to be a stat compiler as opposed to an actuall good player.

Mr. Hankey is gonna provide many amusing moments during his reign over the Yanks.

Eh, well, we're coming into Fenway banged up like we always are when we play the Sox.

Howie Kendrick: DL
Me: DL
Torii Hunter: banged up

One day the Sox will face an Angels team at full strength.

As if the Sox aren't banged up at all.

Mike Lowell: DL
Curt Schilling: DL
Coco Crisp: banged up

And besides, with you on the DL, the Angels will improve their chances at Fenway.

Well except that you've got one key player (Lowell) out and we've got three of our best out or banged up.

One? Last I checked both Lowell and Schilling were key players, and Crisp is a defensive wizard whose stats aren't very different from your boy Kendrick.
