Felix Potvin was my favourite goalie when he was playing for the Leafs.

Potvin, Gilmour, and Wendell Clark...those were the days.

Sorry, nothing to do with hockey, but I think this is still the most appropriate place to say it, without having to start a new thread...Being from Sask., all I have to say is GO RIDERS GO!!!

Okay, I'll make a part of this hockey-related in case someone flips out -

The Habs were doing great at the beginning of the season but seem to be struggling these past 2 weeks. Seems like a repeat of last year except this time they have no excuse (flu, Gainey's daughter, etc)

The Roughriders are SASKATCHEWAN'S team, not Regina's!

I was in Saskatoon last Sunday and people were going crazy on the streets after they won. Woohoo!

Now who says Sask. couldn't handle an NHL team?

I stand corrected, although, I will point out that I said ALL OF RIDER NATION.

Montreal welcome's you in November 2008.

Montreal gets to host the Grey Cup next year? Hmm, maybe I'll care about the CFL after the start of the hockey season for once.

I don't think that the other four people who read this thread won't mind.

So after taking a 5-1 pounding to the Phoenix Coyotes this Saturday ( ) the Leafs management met for "an emergency meeting" on Sunday to discuss their options for the rest of the season...

Annnd the results are...

wait for it....

ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING!!!

No changes, no firings, we’re going to “stay the course” what ever the fuck that means…

According to Forbes, the Leafs are the most lucrative franchise in hockey. The Rangers are second, but not even close in $ value. So I guess in some respects they are doing something right up there. That being said, the fault lies with - YOU. The fans. So long as you all keep going to the games, buyuing season tickets, etc, the management doesn't need to change anything? I guess that's how they see it. And I didn't know that the team was owned by a bunch of teachers. Weird.

They are???

Weird.

Ok, so I get it now - it's all elfa's fault. Interesting.

Elfa, I really weep for you whenever I happen upon Hockey Night in Canada, I really do. I remember the "Dead Wings" period all too well.

yeah, the Ontario Teacher's Federation...

I do my part, I haven't been to a game in years - mostly because I can't afford it but that's beside the point

Good job. It's people like you that will help bring the Leafs back to glory. You're a superfan.

And yep, they're worth something like $350M. The Rangers are $2XXM. The Islanders are $150M, and I kinda want to buy them. I'd sign Darcy Tucker and Sean Avery and send them to the minors. Heh.
