What song (s) can bring you to tears?

1. Hannah & Gabi: Lemonheads. I fell in love with this song in high school. I had a crush on this girl and would listen to this song an think of her. There's a kick ass steel pedal solo in the middle. Just awesome.

2. Pyramid Song: Radiohead. Makes me feel so alone. And cold.

I'm not gonna list ALL the songs that tug at my  'cause I wanna hear what you guys have to say.

GO!

U2 - Tomorrow
Bruce Springsteen - Downbound Train
Johnny Cash - Hurt (actually the video is even more tear-jerking than the song, but the song is sad too.)
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

*U2--Bad, Stay
*James Taylor--Fire and Rain
*Otis Redding--Dock of the Bay
*Ryan Adams--Harder Now That It's Over
*Johnny Cash--Hurt (NIN is effective as well, but I find Cash's version to be much more powerful)
*Coldplay--Warning Sign

Plus lots of other stuff, when I'm in a weepy mood or feeling down and depressed...

Don't Speak - No Doubt
I Can't Make You Love Me - Bonnie Raitt

My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
WOWY - U2
Wild Horses - U2
Faithfully - Journey
Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper
Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley

Ok...I'm stuck in the eighties.
I lot of these songs remind of
someone or a period in time
when I was kinda sad.
I quess I've been sad a lot.

One, Peace on Earth, Walk On - U2
Wild Horses - The Sundays
Fields of Gold - Sting, or Eva Cassidy
The World I Know - Collective Soul
Time of Your Life - Green Day
In My Life - Beatles
I WIll Remember You - Sarah McLachlan
I Will Take Care of You - Amy Sky (Okay, super cheesy, but I'm really an emotional person) :reject:
Eve - Chantal Kreviazuk
Thief - OLP

....the above all make me misty (on occasion), but One is the onyl song that has truly rendered me immobile, and just made me break down.

I don't quite know if the SONGS themselves are that sad, but I think they've all corresponded with a particular sad period in my life, and thuis, whenever I hear them, I'm reminded of that time and...well

I also couldn't listen to the theme from Schindler's List for about a year and a half without crying.

I have no idea why...but the song All Fired Up from Pat Benatar always made me tear up. Something about that song gives me alot of hope...just gets me emotional.

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? Holy crap, chickie. That was total from left field. good choice though, I think its required listening for anyone who lives in Michigan.

Walk On -- U2
No More Drama -- Mary J. Blige
At Last -- Etta James [heard this last week and thought of how lucky I am to be with someone like that :)]

WOWY - U2

A lot of people say this song makes them cry.

I've never cried when listening to it.

Sharky, yeah, that "No More Drama" song...yeah, I get a lump in my throat when I hear it and see the video...(I like the song and video, though-both are very powerful).

Let's see, songs that make me cry:

Well, the U2 songs that I can think of are:

Peace On Earth
Kite
If God Will Send His Angels

As for other songs:

I Will Remember You-Sarah McLachlan
Tears In Heaven-Eric Clapton
Abraham, Martin, and John-Dion
Candle In The Wind-Elton John
Imagine-the version that Neil Young did at that "America: A Tribute To Heroes" thing...dear god, I was bawling when I heard his version of that song...so moving...
Fire and Rain-James Taylor (when he did it at that concert for New York City-showing the audience and seeing people hold up pictures of loved ones they'd lost or something...yeah...)
Long, Long Time-Linda Ronstadt
Here Comes The Sun-Beatles and My Sweet Lord by George Harrison (this was right after George Harrison had died, and I came home from school the day he died and they had a little medley of songs both from him and the Beatles on the radio and I cried)

As far as songs that I haven't actually cried at but have gotten a lump in my throat when seeing the videos and hearing them:

Stole-Kelly Rowland
Beautiful-Christina Aguillera

And the song doesn't make me cry, but the video for "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. does.

So there's my list.

I forgot about those two! I think Tears in Heaven is so sad because you know what it's about...and Everybody Hurts. That song has gotten me through some very difficult phases.

5. Depeche Mode - Condemnation

  Yes HelloAngel!!!

I'd have to say:

Queen:
The Show Must Go On
These are the Days of Our Lives
One Year of Love

Aside from his voice (which, alone, will move me to tears) the lyrics are just heartbreaking. :(

and "Mother's Pride" from George Michael.

songs i've cried because of:
u2-stuck in a moment, love is blindness (live)
rem-everybody hurts

songs that make me want to cry:
jeff buckley-satisfied mind, hallelujah, grace, you and i, morning theft, song to no one
u2-please (live)
rem-nightswimming
radiohead-high&dry
pete yorn-lose you

*sigh* what a depressing thread...:(

"Nookie"-Limp Bizkit
"Opps I Did it Again" Britney Spears
"By, Bye, Bye"- N'Sync

Hearing these songs makes me cry! Oh the horror!

I've been fascinated by Great Lakes ships and shipwrecks since I was a little kid. I wrote a research paper on the Fitz for my junior year of high school, and I have used that song for other school projects.

My parents took me to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Point (the Fitz sank not far from that point). They had a little theater that they showed a movie in, and when they played that song at the end (I believe it was the end), I think everybody in the room had tears in their eyes.

Radiohead - How to Dissapear
Elliott Smith - Between the Bars, Pitselah
Wilco - Reservations, How to Fight Lonliness
Ours - Dancing Alone, Dizzy
U2 - Slow Dancing, With or Without You
Pearl Jam - Wishlist
Leonard Cohen - Take this Waltz, Famous Blue Raincoat, Chelsae Hotel and so on and so on into infinity....
