we only use two plates and maybe 2 cups on any given day so I'd still save it all up for once or twice a week anyway

I've discovered you can hide almost any mess by pushing it into one corner of a couch and covering it with a seemingly carelessly discarded jacket.

I've tried the strategically placed jacket too, or hide things behind a chair and cover with a blanket if it's too much stuff.
This no housework thing really stimulates my creativity
