Thoughts?

I know a lot of their stuff is a bit out there, but I think the song Hypnotize, is totally addictive...

I am a big fan of System of a Down. I've been listening to the album Mezmorize every day. It's wayyyy out there crazy.

For someone who is curious about them, I think it's best to start w/ the album Toxicity.

Yeah - I agree, I love Chop Suey, but I think Mezmorize and Hypnotize are more melodic and musical.

They have some crazy stuff.

That Banana - Terracotta pie song it nuts.

Needless to say Rick Rubin produced it - the man is a genius, you know he just did Neil Diamond's new album.

He is going to go down as one of the greatest producers of all time methinks...

first album is pretty good, toxicity is alright, everything else: meh. i do like the new single though.

i recommend faith no more to whoever likes this band.

i sit! in my desolate room! no lights! no music! just anger! i killed everyone. and i'm away forever. BUT I'M FEELING BETTER!!

that was the only song of theirs i ever liked. and it was in my questionable nu-metal days (or rather, month) when i owned korn albums.

They have an album before Toxicity

To each his/her own. And I can definietly see a Faith No More similarity. I find System to be a bit heavier and at times more tribal...

Best line from Mezmorize:

from Violent Pornagraphy:

Non stop disco
betcha it's Nabisco
betcha ya' didn't know know - oh oooo:rockon:

I think they offer something unique in their genre - melody, vocal talent, an exotic flavor, a willingness to be a bit crazy. I also think they could make better music than they have - they are too quick to break down into blistering walls of thrashmetal, which gets old quickly.

Anyway, here's my take::up: with a bit of

Interesting point.

Well, i think they are maturing as a band, and I am sure some of the break out thrash will give way to more inspired rock stuff.

The one thing I will say is I really enjoy all the irony in their songs.

They are kind of deep.

I do love Faith No More, but I really do not see a very strong connection.

Now if you said Mr. Bungle...

they're music is the most innovative thing sounding for a LONG time...

that's why I like them, and don't change the channel / Station when they appear... they're never bore to hear

a defining band of the mid 2000s

the political focus

and the PURE absurdity of it all

they say sometimes that music has gone so far it cant go any further

but SOAD ensures music is very much alive and well

much like bob dylan in the 60s, to rage against the machine in the mid 90s, i will be happy to say that the System works
