This is terrible news! Huge influence over me when I was younger, 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' is one of those albums that changed my life and I'll never forget the influence Barrett and his music has had over me.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

the DJ that comes on at 10:00pm here has placed nothing but Pink Floyd since his program begun... now on 'Wish You Were Here'

RIP

Very sad news indeed.

Terrible news. I felt genuinely shocked when I heard.

Now Mr. Barrett is somewhere in a better place, lying on his very own eiderdown looking down on us. Shine on.

I recorded this today in tribute to Syd.

Sorry, I know it's not perfect. I should have recorded the drums first because I found it difficult to keep the tempo consistent on my drum looping software. And I hate the sound of my own voice, so I am giving you a choice...if you want the music only, I can upload it as well. I only recorded the vocals because they're important in the context.

Nice, moving tribute GibsonGirl. Keep the vocals. Maybe thicken them up a bit in the software if you want, but it sounds great as is.
