I hope they drop Kate Bosworth! (Perhaps off the top of the Daily Planet from a dangling helicopter? heheheheh I'm evil, I know.)

I liked the film. Routh surprised me. He was much better for the role than I initially expected. I thought Kevin Spacey was wonderful though. Not quite as good as Gene Hackman (but then again, who is?) but still great nontheless.

***X-Men III SPOILERS!!!***

But, the most important thing for me going into this film was my full-hearted expectation that it would be better than the severely disappointing X-Men: The Last Stand. Brett Ratner is a shitty director, so I knew X3 was going to be at least a little disappointing going in, but I wasn't prepared for that abomination of a film. So, all my hope then shifted to the "new" Singer project, Superman Returns. I thought, "Damn you Brian Singer, you let my X-Men die sad and alone over there! You better make this Superman project worth it!"

So ultimately, I got my wish. It was a much better sequel than X3 was, though I can't say that I wouldn't rather have had a lesser quality Superman movie in exchange for a great, Singer-directed X3.

Now, I the funniest thing about Superman Returns was the casting of James Marsden. His appearance in almost the entire movie made me think, "Wow, I wonder if Cyclops' death in the first scene of X3 was because Singer stole Marsden from the production for his own purposes in Superman?" Muhahah. Certainly a devious move if proven true.

Ooooh...both Reese and Rachel would have been great choices! I think McAdams would have had better chemistry w/ Routh than Witherspoon would have. I feel so awful for saying it, but I really do hope Bosworth is replaced.

I saw it last night and honestly I thought it was fantastic.

I watched the first two before I went...and to say that the first Superman movie is remarkable makes me laugh...I'm sorry because I know I wasn't around when it first came out and myabe it was different then, but I couldnt' sit through the whole thing

as for the second one, it was watchable and I even might say I enjoyed it...

Gene Hackman was the onlything I could actually really say I liked...He's fantastic and I am sooo glad that I got to see his performance as Lex Luthor first.
Kevin Spacey is my favorite actor, and honestly I thougth he was a terrific Lex, he looked like Gene Hackman and even sounded like him, and yes, he did play a darker Lex, but I think Kitty was pretty funny and sorta helped a little.

Also, I liked the guy who played Superman, and though I liked Christopher Reeve as SUPERMAN I hated watching him as Clark Kent, it was unbearable.

And I can't really agree about Kate Bosworth either..

pretty much Iliked the cast the end

I don't know if this is true or if he even had a "tantrum" but if so looks like Superman is already a diva

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1773

American star Brandon Routh was left furious this week after he complained the make-up used on his face at a press conference made him look pale, artificial and 'a bit wimpy'.

The actor became annoyed when he saw pictures of himself posing up next to his Lois Lane, Kate Bosworth, who, he said, looked much more natural and sunkissed.

After the Superman Returns press conference at London's Dorchester Hotel on Wednesday afternoon, Routh's aides had new darker foundation flown in for him to use in time for last night's premiere in Leicester Square.

"To say that Brandon was livid with his make-up is an understatement," said an aide.

"The problem arose when he posed for photographs beside his co-star Kate Bosworth - who has a fantastic tan - and he realised that he looked pale and artificial in comparison.

"Basically there was a problem with the shade of his tinted moisturiser - it was slightly lighter than his natural skin tone - so he asked for an expensive fake tan moisturiser to be used instead.

"A waterproof, gradual build one which develops over time was eventually found and has given him a natural, all-over golden glow.

"This is Brandon's first major movie premiere and in front of thousands of screaming fans, it is understandable that he wanted to look like a tanned, Adonis of a superhero and not a pale-skinned wimp."

In stark contrast to his all-action counterpart, Routh refused to tackle the rather embarrassing topic head-on.

Instead, he ordered his personal assistant to do it for him.

So, within minutes the film company's specialist make-up artist had been hauled in and instructed to make Routh more tanned.

It's from the Daily Mail. It won't be.

Those crazy tabloids...

I've seen this movie 4 times.

It's just an excellent movie!

Beautifully shot.

Brandon Routh is HOT and does a great job!! I'm a fan!

Kevin Spacey is brilliant.

I agree that Kate Bosworth was not up to the task. She was horrible!

BTW, Pirates sucked! It was too long and just wouldn't stop! And I was fan of the first one. Sigh!!!

Superman Returns deserves a sequel and they should keep Bryan Singer.

I'm waiting for the Superman II Richard Donner version which is being worked on now!

Check out this website http://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php

It will give you another link to a Bryan Singer interview discussing it.

The fact that they are revisiting it to give Richard Donner his due, is superb.

As of yesterday, I didn't know Richard Donner was involved but somebody else was doing what Donner intended. And then I read this Bryan Singer Interview on Superman Homepage and now i'm excited.

I thought it was one of the lamest movies I have ever seen. I would have walked out had I not been with friends (one of whom was having a nice nap). I am truly shocked by the positive responses. The actor playing Superman, whose name I forget because he is so forgettable, was basically cardboard. As a friend said, he was a decent Superboy, but certainly no Superman. Maybe I just don't care for the genre.

Me too. Isn't it supposed to be part of the new DVD box set that's coming out in November? Is it November?

I think November is right but I don't know.

I have seen so many bits here and there.

I want to see his version of the film.

And Still Superman Returns was awesome, a bit slow in some areas but awesome. I love super hero movies. I remember watching the first movies on video and such. I got goosebumps!

Also, I don't think Brandon Routh was cardboard. He had subtle changes. In his eyes, expressions. sigh!!

My dream movie would be one with the Justice League!
