Sun Kil Moon : "April" the new album

For any fans of Sun Kil Moon they are streaming the new album "April" at www.myspace.com/sunkilmoon
For those not familiar Sun Kil Moon it is Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters as well as other musicians. They had a brilliant album a few years back called "Ghosts Of The Great Highway" and another one of Modest Mouse covers called "Tiny Cities".

I really like their first album - beautiful stuff. I didn't listen to the last one because I'm not a Modest Mouse fan.

The last one had some amazing songs on it - you'd never know it was the music of Modest Mouse. Sun Kil Moon covered the songs in such a way as to make them their own. One track "Ocean Breathes Salty" is heartbreaking.

I haven't heard the new SKM album, but I wanted to add that Mark Kozelek produced the Retribution Gospel Choir album that just came out this week (side project of Alan Sparhawk of Low). It's quite enjoyable.

For some reason there are now only 4 songs that are streaming. Oh well, I'm buying the album April 1.
