Since it's the middle of the summer and i was thinking about all the great bands touring around this summer and early fall........what bands have you already seen this summer or are excited about seeing before the season ends?

i have already seen the tragically hip and our lady peace and im going to see oasis and sloan later this summer. :D

Even if you're not fans of the band... go see Weezer. There are lots of undiscovered bands on the sidestage, usually 4-5, and there's also Sparta, Dashboard Confessional, and on select dates (ie right after the one I saw... GRRR...), the Strokes will also be playing. The show only costs 22-27 bucks for all of this, and Weezer themselves put on an excellent show, really tight live band, and really friendly atmosphere. Lots, and lots, and lots of energy. Go see the Enlightenment Tour!

My friend Derek didn't really like Weezer before the show. He is converted.

So far:
Rock Never Stops tour(Tesla/Vince Neil)
Simple Minds (leaning on stage right in front of Jim Kerr)
Deep Purple/Scorpions
Ozzfest
The Who/Robert Plant

Upcoming:
Hagar/Roth
Stones

Planning on seeing Springsteen in Oct, assuming I get a ticket when they go on sale.
Also just heard The Who is coming back in Sept, so that's a probability.
Aerosmith if I find a good seat.

Since May, I've seen:

Starsailor
Ed Harcourt
some local bands
They Might Be Giants
Doves (twice)
Elbow -- opening for Doves (twice)
Neil Finn
Ed Harcourt -- opening for Neil Finn
Neil Halstead (twice)
The Vines

Upcoming:

maybe Ash instore tomorrow
Jimmy Fallon (hopefully -- still need to get tickets)
Cousteau
South -- opening for Cousteau (and the real reason I'm going!!)
Coldplay

I think that's it. I really slacked off in June. :(

i sooooo wish i could see coldplay but i'll be in school then and i won't be able to get the time off.....boo hoo :(

Of my friends (around here at least) - no one is really a big concert go-er :(

I havent been to anything since I saw Garbage back in April, but I'm seeing Coldplay in September! :D

I mentioned this in another post, but I say it again. Hagar and Roth was a cool show. If you're lucky Roth will open for Hagar, because Hagar puts on a better show overall. It's worth the price of the ticket, so go and have a blast.

Weezer ruled, and so did one of their opening bands, Sparta. I'm planning on going to Moby.

looking forward to the rest of the year

Garbage- 3 times this spring
Weezer-just last week
The Boss-August 15th (GA's, )
The Stones-October 12th (No Doubt is opening, hell yea!)

Possibly No Doubt and Garbage when/if they tour later this year.

Concerts I wish I had seen but couldn't/won't get to:
JSBX
Nick Cave
No Doubt
Oasis
The Who/Robert Plant
Paul McCartney

*sigh* I wanna be a roadie.

 Actually, I need a frowny-noddy smiley here.... :(

*Wishes she lived somewhere where tours visit...

Bands that came and I sadly missed:

Remy Zero

Bands I wanted to see, but apparently don't feel Vancouver is important enough:

No Doubt

This summer I've seen:

Rufus Wainwright (going to see him again in August)
Les Claypool
Pete Yorn *loveth*
Richard Thompson
White Stripes

More fun than I've had in quite a long time! And all great shows! :D

I saw Moby in Indianapolis a few weeks ago. it was definitely one of the best shows i've seen in a while! Dirty Vegas was good too (we got there too late to see Azure Ray).

I just got tickets to see Sheryl Crow mid-August :D

No Doubt
