ha, i also have the killers' stuff, but i just downloaded those on a whim, so i don't count them.

the last new album i bought was the sun and the moon by the bravery, and consolers of the lonely. see, i'm not totally stuck in the 80s

I have so much music to catch up on. It's hard work being as "hep" and "with it" as I am.

From a document in my computer concerning albums of 2008:

LISTENED TO

Sheryl Crow - Detours
R.E.M. - Accelerate
The Roots - Rising Down
Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple
The Dodos - Visiter
The Raconteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely

WILL LISTEN TO

Coldplay - Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
Madonna - Hard Candy
Portishead - Third
My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges
Weezer - The Red Album
British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?
She & Him - Volume One
Supergrass - Diamond Hoo Ha
Stephen Malkmus - Real Emotional Trash
The Breeders - Mountain Battles
Los Campesinos! - Hold On Now, Youngster
Sun Kil Moon - April

The last album I legitimately bought was "Those Who Tell the Truth ... ETC." by Explosions in the Sky.

Tell me you didn't buy that when it came out.

That about summarizes my life right now.

I'm glad that my computer's out of impotence, though.

Artists I've Pretty Much Finished:
U2
Bruce Springsteen
David Bowie

Artists to Finish Exploring:
Pink Floyd
Porcupine Tree
Explosions in the Sky
Arcade Fire
John Frusciante
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Who

Artists I've Heard a Bit Of and Want to Try More:
The Police
Bob Dylan
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
Velvet Underground
Coldplay
God Is an Astronaut
The Cure
Queen
Joy Division
Pearl Jam

Any suggestions? Any additions? Subtractions? Music to help me move along?

No, a couple of weeks ago, along with Diamond Dogs.

 Pretty good choices though. One of the last legitimate purchases I remember making was Velvet Underground's Loaded and The Replacements' Tim for like $20 last summer. Both artists and albums are worth checking out BTW.

Oh, REM should be on that list too.

I want to give Coldplay a shot. I gave Radiohead a shot and didn't get into it, though I still haven't heard most of OK Computer.

Consolers Of The Lonely is surprisingly good...I was losing faith in Jack White for a minute there.

I do like that album, but I like Benson more than White.

Did you get the Sun and Moon double album?

Coldplay isn't all that bad. Their "Parachutes" album is actually pretty good all the way through.

I like the alternate takes quite a bit--especially of "Believe"
me too, i think both discs are great. although i kind of did a double take, the track every word from your mouth is a knife in my ear or whatever, the version off the first disc, the music sounds almost identical to fearless. they ripped themselves off :giggle:
