stupid zip drive question

i'm sure it's a bad thing that my computer spits the ziup disc out of the drive...

anyone know why it would do that though?

i put the disc in and it immediatly shoots out...so i put the disc on when the computer was off and it spit out once it booted up...i went and checked the drive properties to see if maybe the drive was shut off or something, which it wasn't


i need help...

Listed below are some of the reasons why a Zip? disk may eject immediately after insertion into a drive.

The Zip 100MB disk crystal may be missing or damaged. If the crystal is missing or damaged, please contact Iomega Customer Service at http://www.iomega.com/support/returns/index.html to obtain a replacement disk.


A Zip 250MB disk that is being used on a Zip 100MB drive will immediately eject. Zip 250MB disks cannot be used with the Zip 100MB drive.


A Zip 250MB disk that has the bottom of the disk exposed to very bright light or sunlight may have to be put in a dark location, such as a closed drawer, for several hours. After the disk has been in the dark, try the disk in the drive again.


The disk being used may not be compatible with the Zip drive. Use an Iomega? brand disk to help resolve this issue. You may obtain disks from the Iomega online store at http://www.iomega.com/direct/main/home.jsp

I was just gonna ask if it just spits out that one disk, or have you tried other disks? If it just spits out that one disk and other ones work, then it sounds like it's probably a bad disk

everything is working, i bought some zip discs today, and i tried moving files to my mom's computer


it worked!!!
