'Still Waiting' by Sum 41

Unabashedly pop. Strong marks for that, I guess. Punk was never for the snot nosed, though. How could these guys get it so wrong on this tune? Doesn't the guitarist know that you have to up the ante? His riffs here are dreadful. They have no reason to sneer, but yet they do. Singer and drummer bring plenty of energy to the table here, but that energy couldn't be more unfocused.

Anyone notice their song "Pieces" is almost the exact same chord progression as "The Scientist"?
