First to be eliminated from The River was "Drive All Night".

Independence Day, Hungry Heart, Crush on You, I Wanna Marry You, I'm a Rocker, Stolen Car - 1
Uh...The Rest of 'em - 0

I'm good with either Crush On You or I'm A Rocker.

haha, i love those two. so cheesy, yet not craptastic like hungry heart.

and i love stolen car. although i'm a bigger fan of the one on tracks than on the album. go figure.

Don't get me wrong, I like them as well, but they are definitely a notch lower than everything else on the album.

I really enjoy both Stolen Car versions. For the longest time, I considered the version on Tracks superior, and the story is definitely fleshed out more there with the extra verses, but lately I've returned to the original album version - it really is a gorgeous piece of music.

I found a vinyl copy of The River the other day and snapped it up. With a deluxe remastered treatment still at least a year away, I figured it was worth the short term investment, considering how shitty the quality of the CD release is. Can't wait to do a comparison...

I love my vinyl copies of The River and Nebraska.

As for the poll, I'm voting off Hungry Heart. I remember hearing it for the first time and thinking "Bruce did THIS? Blargh."

It was.

And it boggles the mind that it could possibly go this early, ahead of songs like Crush On You and I'm A Rocker.

I knew The River would have interesting results, but I didn't see that coming.
