I actually bought the 3-disc live thing before I was a really big Springsteen fan, which is kind of funny. I remember my favorite aunt had it on cassette and singing along with it in the car when it came out, and I bought it for nostalgia reasons.

I only recently started really loving it. I suppose I'll have to pick up Tracks now, since the next step after new obsession is the completist phase.

Yes, I have it and love it. I nearly cry every time I hear the story about his dad's reaction to the army not taking him.

I don't have Tracks, though.

Oh yeah, his little story before The River. I always thought that was really cool.

(Bono: Take some fucking notes.)

I remember buying the live box the day it came out. I had just turned 16 and was able to drive to the local record store to get it. I got it on tape, but I remember seeing the CD version and thinking how cool it would be to have a CD player for it (I didn't get one until Christmas the following year).

Needless to say, I wore out the tapes rather quickly.

Tracks is a fantastic box set through the first three discs. Disc Four, which covers the 90's, obviously isn't up to the same level, although there are a couple of hidden gems there.

I think all I'm missing from my collection are Greetings From Asbury Park, Tracks and that double-live CD that's got American Skin (41 Shots) on it. I thought I used to have that one, but apparently not.

Oh, and the Dublin live CD/DVD from the Seeger Sessions tour - I really need to get that, and I'll probably mosey over to Amazon to pick up a copy today.

And Fade Away--another top 5 song.

On vinyl and cd.

I'd actually like to unload the vinyl edition.

Does Trapped appear on a studio album? I have a live version on the Essential collection.

I just ordered a few Bruce goodies for my collection. The live Dublin CD/DVD, the extra tracks Seeger disc, and a live DVD from Madison Square Garden.

I think it's only live. It's a Jimmy Cliff song, and I don't think Bruce released a studio version of it.

Bruce has always been the better story teller and sounds a lot less postured than Bono doing so. But Bono has a couple other things going for him.
