Wow I'm listening to my hits cd in it's entirety after ages... and really enjoying all these songs! Brilliant Disguise is awesome... I never paid much attention to this song before. Will have to get an album now.

ah ha! Thanks. The River is the last Springsteen album I picked up, but I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet. Will remedy that post haste.

Considering he did it twice, I'm thinking it's something he does a lot, but I'm curious to hear if that was two little bits of spontaneity or what.

But yeah, the encore ... holy shit, you guys. I haven't paid too close attention to the set lists, but it seemed maybe abbreviated - it was just 10th Avenue, Rosalita, Born to Run and American Land, but holy shit, it was the most amazing stretch of concert I've ever seen.
In the past, he actually hasn't acknowledged the signs too much, but it seems to have become a recurring theme during this leg, with awesome results.

And your encore was one song shorter because you got an extra song in the main set. 24 total songs is about what he's usually done.

I love that song, too. I've always thought Tunnel of Love was an underrated record. It was a weird time in Bruce history, though--the breakup of his first marriage and getting together with Patti. And he started wearing suits and bolo ties. But I loved the tour, partly because I had the most amazing seats I've ever had at an arena show before (except for being in the U2 heart) thanks to my then-boyfriend's old friend Garry Tallent.

My copy of The River has gone missing.

Will remedy that post haste.

Go listen to the title song. Over and over and over.

Wow, Point Blank that's amazing....

But that's one of the few I already know well.

I was holding out a secret hope they'd play Cadillac Ranch - I read a blurb somewhere that sounded like it brought the house down in Milwaukee.

But that's okay - Key Arena didn't need any more of that. Any more, and the roof would've caved in.

Ah, Bruce. Where have you been most of my adult life?

First you got me on an R.E.M. kick, now I'm cleaning out my closet to Bruce, listening to Tunnel of Love. One Step Up is a truly beautiful gut wrenching song.

You're welcome.

Edit: Ha ha ha, the torrent of the show is already up on Dime. God, I love the internet.

Brilliant Disguise is in my top five Bruce songs.

I do have to say that disc 2 of the River doesn't do all that much for me.

Tunnel of Love is amazing

It's so underrated, in my opinion. I loved that he did the title track at my concert.

The River is all about the title song, Point Blank, and Out in the Street as far as I'm concerned, which is not a lot of songs out of a 2-disc record, and probably why I haven't replaced my missing copy yet.

Do you all have that 3-disc live collection that spans 1975-1985? I totally love it.
