i'd just like to say that u2 fans are much much better at recording shit off the TV than springsteen fans... i still can't find a high quality version of the three songs they broadcasted on vh1

i would imagine springsteen showas are harder to record due to there being so many more things going on, but i have no idea what i'm talking about so i could be dead wrong.

The Night Eddie Met Bruce

Saw this post over on Backstreets.....really sweet

Posted by all4eddie at http://www.backstreets.com/btx/viewt...er=asc&start=0

Whoa! What a night. And to think I was trying to trade my GA for Hartford. Let me first say that I will never say anything bad the pit or pit goers ever again, you folks have the intestinal fortitude of an offensive lineman.

It was our first time in the pit and we were right against the railing directly in front of Clarence. There were a couple of wonderful ladies we met that somehow identified Eddie as autistic from jump street. (as we later found out one was the mother of 2 autistic sons and is a btx'er) When they read our sign they said you must show that to Bruce!

I waited for the perfect opportunity to present itself. Song after song waiting for Bruce to be in front of us and making eye contact. Then I thought to myself, if we raise the sign it might just catch his attention, but I didnt want to be rude to those behind us and wanted to hang it up there as briefly as possible.

BTW, let me just reiterate what I already mentioned on BTX about how nice and wonderful Bruce fans really are. As my wife and I took turns all night keeping Eddie on our shoulders, several members of the E Street Lounge all around offered to put him on their shoulders to give us a break. (after all Eddie's 11 now and about 75 pounds, not like the good ole days when he was a mere 45 pounds and I would put him on my shoulders and walk all over Philly)

So then Promised land began, I knew Bruce would move around and socialize during this tune for sure, we raised the sign quickly, Clarence and Nils read it but Bruce had his head down, then there it was He was right in front of us, the sign went up and time stood still, Bruce stopped playing read every word, and seem to be a little choked up and said really, which one is he and then he reaches out and hands Eddie his harmonica, needless to say the tears began to flow, my hands were shaking as they are now retelling this story to you about finally meeting Bruce. (our sign reads "Your Music Taught our Autistic Son to Speak, Thank You.)

Being Autistic Eddie is very OCD, and everything needs to be back in its place, so after "borrowing" and playing Bruces harmonica all night long to every song, when Bruce was near again, Eddie tried to return it to Bruce, Bruce told Eddie "No son, its yours you keep it". What a smile that was.

As the night went on Bruce would acknowledge Eddie and give him a point or nod many more times.

Thank you Bruce, we really do love you. You made not only a little boys night last night but man how do we ever top this one?!And thank you to all of the wonderful Bruce fans in the pit last night, man you guys are tops. God Bless. Peace, and Love!

I'm hoping he keeps up this rarity streak he's been on lately.
