In the late 70s, early 80's...
Let's not beat around the bush.

This band were sENZational! I will admit that I fell into this band as a by-product of being completely & utterly in love with Crowded House... but what a by product it was.

They truly were the peak of both Eclectica & Nu-Wave Pop... a very difficult accomplishment. Producing the highlights of Tim Finn's career & the birthplace of Neil Finn's - Split Enz truly were one of the greatest bands ever.

The spoons, the outfits, the lyrics, the bizzare, the gold records.

Most regretful Enz moment:

I went to my city's University O-Ball where Split Enz were playing on the End of the Enz tour. I watched the support - Sandii and the Sunsetz and was too pissed and distracted to watch the Enz.

Slaps self on wrist.

(I think it was the same night  *too many dead brain cells *)

Sandii and the Sunsetz  I have them on vinyl too. lol

Splitz Enz are just plain evil. I cant be bothered writing my story about Split Enx/INXS again but yeah, I have "issues" with Split Enz.

i bought a phonograph for like $100. i hooked it up to my stereo and i can listen to my wonderful records as often as i want. it plays 33s, 45s, and even 78s!

phonographs can be had for cheap, at least here in the states. have you looked into how much it would cost to buy one?

Sandii and the Sunsetz were cool!!! They had this great song "Alive" and it was all bouncy and Japanesey! Sandii had great hair

Beli, just buy a bloody turntable! Just do it!

Sandii was gorgeous. So beautiful.

I need to get a whole new stereo. I have nothing to play music on at the moment, apart from this computer but that doesnt count. "Real" music doesnt come out of crappy computer speaker.

Man I've got "Alive" stuck in the brain and I haven't heard for years. Unfortunately I can't sing along cos apart from "Alive" its all Japanese........

BEG, do you have any Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra CDs? I only have Pioneers and I would love to have the album that has their version of Baby Elephant Walk

But I've left it too late. I haven't seen their CDs in shops for years.

No sorry. Wow, that's a blast from the past! I remember listening to an interview that went all Sunday arvo long with them on our alternative radio station (3D-FM) many moons ago. Very funny guys....
