Is it just me or does it sound like William Orbit produced this Death Cab For Cutie track?

I'm sure he didn't, but it sounds like his vein. Real New Age'y with a hard emphasis on some great guitar strumming.

Agreed. These are much better albums, particularly Transatlanticism. DCFC are one of those bands that seemed to keep getting better with each release, until Plans, though there a handful of good songs on Plans as well.
